The weekly returns of the Bnnk of England, published to-day, show the total reserve m notes and bullion to be £14,322,000, being an inoreaae of £34,000 as compared with the previous week. The proportion of reaorve to liabilities is 45*16 par cent. Four hundred cases of kauri gum have been sold at prices showing a Blight advance on last quotations. Consols, 07. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stook, 10CJ ; do 3& per cent., 9G:J. Adelaide wheat is firmer nnd is quoted at 393 ; Victorian is also firmer at 38s ; New Zealand long berried is firm at 38s. Sugar, Gorman beet, 14s ; Java is firm at 159 6d. No 1 beet Sootoh pig icon, f.o.b. m the Clyde, 50s for o»Bh. Threo months' bills aro quoted at 3| per cent. CENTRAL AMERICA. New York, August 28. A treaty has been entered botwoan Guatemala and San Salvador, stipulating for the independence of the state of San Salvador.
