Alexander Frew was summoned for giving whisky to Charles Stracbao.to whom the sale of liquor was prohibited by a bench of justice at Waimate m February last. Mr Orbell for defondant. Sergeant Gilbert and five other witnesses, gave evidence to show that a bottle of whisky was given to Strachan by defendant, the latter knowing that Strachan wa» a person on whose account a prohibition order is m operation. After hearing defendant's evidence a fine of £4 was inflicted with 22a costs. D. MoEwan was fined Is for allowing a cow to wander on Bow street. Mrs Bonaldson, for having her chimney on fire, was fined 2s without costs, as defendant had only occupied the house three dayß prior to the offence. r&ltrsQ to peovidb.' AUfrey v. Allfrey. Mrs M. Allfrey auratnoned her husband, James Charles Allfrey, for failing to provide for herself and child eince the 9th of last month. After taking a good deal of evidence, the case wbb dismissed. On the application of Mrs Kent for an order for payment of 15s a week, towards the sunport of six children, of whom she his tho exclusive custody — the husband John Kent, not appearing^ifter hearing the evidence of Sirs Kent, the order wa» made that complainant's husband pay 15s per w«ek, payments to include the time since 20th February last. OITtL CASBS. With ona exception the oivil cases were all settled. Manchester and Co. v. Hobinson, claim £3 14a 2d, for goods supplied. Judgment was given by default for £2 14s 2d and court costa 6s.
