Considerable shipments of wheat aro going forward to tbo United Kingdom, and though latest advices are somewhat conflicting a. slight rise wonld appear to have taken place m London. Wheat is m slightly better demand, thongh prices have not advanced appreciably. Long-berried i 3 mo3t enquired for. Oats — farmers deolino to sell at present prices, and speculators cannot sco any reason to make bettor offers m tho face of no outside enquirj'. Seed — Tartars may be noted as an exception to the general dull demand, whilst really inferior sorts are almost unsaleable. Barley— Malstore decline to purchase medium quality, and "there is consequently considerable difference of opinion as to the value of most of tho parcels offering, which do not como up to the standard. Beans As tho only outlet is the London market, bnvers base their offers on the present value there, which will not admit oE an increase m quotations. Peas— The usual demand for tho Sydney market for Prussian Blue 3 continues. Grass Seed— Being tho o5 season but littlo enquiry can bo noted. The high prices rnling for ripe grass seed has cansed snpplies to be 3cpplemented from outside sources. Cocksfoot, if really prime heavy seed, is saleable, saleable at full rates. Potatoes aro somewhat easier, the speculative spirit shown m some quarters last week having somewhat abated. Dairy Produce — Prices (except for fre3h butter) remaio -unaltered, whilst factory-mado commands tho top prices m onr retail shops it does not appear to stand keeping, or at any rate the voyage Home, if one may judge by tbo results of shipments mado by a local factory, which has lately been made public. The following aro our quotations for tho week : — Tuscan 2a lid to 3s, poarl 2s 9,1 to 23 lOd, Hunter's 2s Sd to 2a 9d, chicken wheat whole 23 4d, broken 2s. OATS. Milling 13 7d, short stout heavy feed la (Jd, inferior and long Is. 4d to Is sd. BARLEY. Primo malting 3s, medium 2s t»d to 2s 9d, feed la 3d. PEAS. Prussian Blues (True) 3s. BEANS. Beans 2s 7d. CIBASS SEED. Eyegras3, machine dressed, 4s 6d, farmers' clean samples 33 to -k. according to quality. Cocksfoot, bright heavy clean samples, 3id to 3jd, light and discolc . .red 2 jd to 3d. P^Ti-TOES. Derwents 40s, at conntry stations. The above quotations aro those paid to farmers for delivery f.o.b. Lyttelton, sacks extra.
