TIMARU AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the committee of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association was hold on Saturday afternoon. There wero 16 membors present, Mr A. M. Clark, President, m tho chair. , A letter was received from the Eawko 8 Bay socifty advocating the imposition of a liconse fee of £10 per annum for entire horses, the amount obtained to bo distributed | m each district as premiums on the best horses. — It was decided to discuss this subject at a general meeting of the association to be held on the necond Saturday m July. The followicg were nppointed a committee to revise the prize schedule for tho next show :— President (to be convener), tho vicepresidents, Messrs E. T. Bhodes and H Jford, and Messrs J. Qoldie, A. Grant, W ETay, J. King, T. Langdon, K. Kelland, C. N. Orbell, W. Pringle, and \V. Quinn ; five to bo a quorum. Tho committee will meet on tho Saturday next aftor the general meeting m July. Messrs D. Sutherland, of St. Androwa, and J. Higginbotbnin, of Upper Pareora, woro elocted mombers. Accounts amounting to £18 13s were passed for payment and tho meeting terminated.
