Nimmo, Commissioner of Public Worts, has resigned his seat m the Cabinet. He will be sneooded by Mr D. M. Davis, who now holds a portfolio without oflice. THE DEATH PENALTY. Johu Anglin, who oti the 27th of December, after bracking his brother-in-law's arm with a bullet, fired twice at his wifo, of whom ho was absurdly jealous, and killed hor, has been sentenced to death. HOPELESSLY INSANE. Philip riaistod, a well-known organist, who murdorod his wifo by cuttiug her throat on the 10th of May, ib now hopelessly insane, and has been committed to an asylum.
THE ULAPA WEST TRAGEDY. The mother of tho young man named Fitzpatrick, who fell dead whilst fighting another nßmed Richardson at Ulapa West on Wednesday night, died from the shock her son's death caused her. At the inquest on tha body of Fitzpatrick the jury returned a verdict that death waa caused by excitement.
