CONFERENCE OF ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETIES.
(By Telegraph.) CHBISICHURCH, May 26. At tbo Acclimatisation Conference it was decided to recommend that dealers should keep a record of native game and phearimls sold ; that any person selling or bartering natiro game should pay a license feo of £3, but that tho present license fee for selling imported game should cover native game j that shooting on Sundays 6hould be prohibited ; that shooting licenses should bo obtainable at least a fortnight before the season opens ; that a penalty Bhould be provided for killing hen pheasants ; that the use of punt guns or swivel guns should be prohibited ■ that bitterns and kiwis should bo inserted m tlio list of absolutely protected birds ; that a council of tho delegates from each Acclimatisation Society m tho south should be appointed to watch over acclimatisation interests and to frame fishing regulations for the South Island. The motion to imposes ten shilling gun tax was withdrawn. Tho conference has adjourned to Monday afternoon.
