Ziesler were appointed "to act as trustees to reeeivo all moneys subscribed, distribute tho same to the widows and orphans of the victims of the disasters, and invest the moneys as they thiuk lit, with the object of relieving any distress occasioned by ttio calamity of tho 14th May, of erecting a suitable memorial to those who perished, and recommending the names of those who volunteered at the risk of their lives, to tho notice of the Koyal Humane Society."— Ed.
