GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the board was held on Tuesday evening last, thero being present Messrs W. 3. ilaaiin (chairman), R. iaylor, N. Dunlop, A. White, J. Williams, A. -;herralt, and J. Mundell. Outward correspondence having been read the following received waa read and dtnlt with as follows : — From the clerk to tho 9ydenham Borough Counril /■« insurance for the benefit of ratepayer).—The letter was received. Vrum Messrs Ifeason and Marchitnt re binrl uf Mewrs Brown and Studholme — strip of Und abutting on the beach. — The chairman explained the matter to the board, and had instructed the clerk to reply. From the Chief Commissioner re tracing of water race. From tho Colonial Secrotary re cherry plum tree* for fencing reserves. Krom the. Property Tax Commissioner re sections passed from the Crown. i'rom Mr Brown re wuter race.— The clerk to reply iiKsin. From tho steward, Timaru Hospital, forWiirtling tho names of persons residing m the 'ii-trir:t who lm<l received treatment m tho hospital for the month. From the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, intimating that the board's share for thu hulf-ycur's contribution to their board was £4 i'l9 7d. Tin: clerk laid on the table a tracing of a building erected by Mr Baker next the Masonic Hall. In reply to n question put the clerk staled that. For the post of clerk there were three applications, namely, Meßsrs J. Wilson-Smith, - H. N. Hiskens, and A. Fisher. Mr H. N. Biskons was appointed. f Accounts amounting to £39 3s lOd were . passed for payment. I The rangers' report was read and approved. I Mr C. E. Sherratt requested the hire of J roller, and the use of part of the road for tl mixing asphalte. n The request was granted. The meeting then adjourned till Monday _ evening next, at 7.30 p.m.
