The British Court is iuoib attractive than those of other European countries. SirDillonßoll.in the absence of SirPolydore de Keyser through illness, welcomed President Caruot m the British Court on behalf of the Englißh Executive Commiaaioners. Sir Graham Berry, Sir "Walter Buller, Mr C. E. N. Braddon, and other colonial delegates wore ranged on the right hand side of the Court, the British delegates on the left hand side. Sir Dillon Bell, speaking m the French tongue, offered the best wishes of England and the assurance of her sympathy m the undertaking. President Carnot, warmly shaking hauds with Sir Dillon Bell eulogised the splondid display mado by British exhibitors, and said he thanked Eugland and her colonies most sincerely for their exertions m the endeavor to make the exhibition a success, and aho thanked the English and Colonial delegates for the generous welcome they had given him to the British Court, London, May 7. The Paris correspondent of the Daily TchyrapFi relates some amußing incident* m connection with the opening of the Paris Exhibition, m which several colonial delegates figured. The French police m ono case, thinking that Sir Dillon. Bell had no'right m tho British Court, ordored him to leave, and threatened to expel him from Iho building. Sir Dillon defied tho ollicers and dared them to touch him, and the police shortly after discovering their mistake, tho nintter ended. Auothor Colonial Commissioner who was surprised m tho act of changing his kilts m a room attachod to tho British section, was ordered by the police to leave, on the f.r.iund that ho was undressed. Ho rcfusod, and cried for help, and was ultimately rescued by somo Englishmen, who forced the police to retire.
