Lindsay ; Starter, J. Meikle ; Treasurer, J. A. Grade ; Secretary, P. W. Eiby. Tho abovo meeting was continued and concluded yesterday. The weather was again very fine, a clouded sky m the early part of the" day making things generally cooler than on Thursday. The attendance was large, the first apecial'train from town being so crowded that a couple of extra carriages had to bo put on before starting for the course. There was oneo more a very good attendance of ladie», tho -rand stuocf and l»wn being well patronised by them. The club's officials worked very heartily, and tho various events wero got off well to time. We may here mention that tho stewards m admitting vehicles free of cost, took a course which will mako their meetings very popular. Tho ball was opened with the Hurdle race, for which six timber jumpers were saddled up, Tenakoe being fcratched m the early morning. The presence of Premier m addition to the entrants of the previous d»y lent additional interest to the rare, which was well contested throughout. From the jump off Panic at once assumed the aagreesire, and being ably ridden throughout, won a beautiful race by a good length. In tho machine Sut&n had a big call, and though he ran very well, Punic was much too good for him. For tho Trot the usual large field went to the post, the winner turning up m Krippel, who won very easily. On account of the pen being put through the names of Escapade and The Brewer, six only were left m to contest the South Canterbury Jockey Club Handicap; nevertheless a grand race was made of it. The Cup winner made the paco a cracker, but soon fulling back left Mon I.oup and Apropos to fight out n splendid finish, the latter winning splendidly by a length. The Selling Race was appropriated by Jack, his win parting him from his old owners, as he was bought by an Ashburton eport. The County Plate resulted m the finest contest of the meeting, The Brewer, m tho able hands of Huxtable, just winning on the post hy a long neck. In the Hack Raco a surprisa was given to many, Black Jack having tuo much foot for the others, and paying the best dividend of tbc meeting. A well run Consolation brought a most successful meeting to a close. £2174 was put through tho totalisator yesterday, the gross total for the two days' meeting being £1115.
