An objection wub lodged hy tho manager of tho Hakataranicii Downs station, but us tho hoard hud received no notice of tho objection, they could do nothing ill the matter, though Mr Jamus, manager of tho elation, elated that the station was considerably oycrvalued. Mr J. R. Clement, objected to tho v iluution on actions No. 2SOS>J, Bli, 010 acres, on the ground that the section* hud been transferred to the Government by him. In answer to the reviewers' question, Mr Clement stated that tho Crown linil refused to accept tho transfer, and if such was tho eu?a ho would send the transfer direct to Her Majesty the Queen. Ho had paid no rates on it for threo years, and never would pay any more. Tho reviewers decided that there was nothing before them to show that Mr Clement was not tho owner of the land. Tho objection was disallowed, but the, board said they would adviso the Commissioner to remit "the tax m this case, as there was no road to the property. WAIMATB BOBOrC.n. S. F. Korr— Section 320. shop m Waimate, valuation £275. Keduced by consent to H. McConnell— Grosvcnor Hotel Mill, valuation £-100. So appearance. Valuation upheld.
