Timaru, Herald. Office, Saturday evoning. AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. Messrs William Collins and Co., report a fair attendance at tho corn exchange to-day. Tho entries of millinjr wheat were numerous, but not a line could be quitted, owners' and buyers' figures being wide of each other. Oata wore firm at the following prices — Danish 2s Id to 2s ojd, milling 2s (Id to 2s 7d, stout feed 2s sd. Tartarians and duns were enqnired for. Fowl feed was in good demand. Wo sold nearly all the entries at la 9d, 2s, and 2s 3d per buahel ; feed barley, 2a Od per bushel ; Derwent potatoes, 70s por ton. Messrs Gracio, Maclean and Co. report for tho past fortnight, as follows : — HORSES. Saturday last being a general holiday, wo did not hold a sale on that date. To-day onr entry at the Timorn Horse Bazaar waa a large one, comprised for the most part of good draughts, for which tho demand wa.i very active, much better, in fact, than wo havo experienced for months past. We .-old for Messrs Jackson Bros., E. Hall, E Evans, A. Meo, and others, (22 draught marcs and geldings at —for best sorts .£2O to .£29, medium .610 to XlB. Hacks— Only .<. few entered of medium quality, which sold at up to £'J. Drays, ploughs, and harness also sold remarkably well. SHEEP. At Washdyke yards the entries of fat and stores havo been well maintained, tho former consisting, with fow exceptions, of owes, for which there has been a fair demand. Stores wore represented by evory variety, from boilers to firat-cla?3 breeding, and sales effected are a decided improvement on those of the same period for the past two years. At auction and privately wo sold 228 lambs at (is, 199 half-brod ewes at 8s 9d, 300 do do at is 10d, 78 merino wethers at 5s 6d, 73 2-tooth erossbreds at Os Od, 300 croasbred ewe3 at (is ld to 7s, 202 croaabred ewes at 3s 3d, 318 do do at 6s 6d, 12 do do at 0s 3d, 438 cull lambs at 2s lid, 201 three-qnarter-bred ewes at 0a od, 219 do do at os 3d. 68 do do at 5s 7d, 20 do do [fat) at lis lid, 200 merino ewe3 at Is 9d, 12 fat wethers at 10s. At Makikihi we sold 505 half-bred ewes at os to 5a 6d, 100 merino ewes at 3s Bd, 90 2-tooth crosabreds at 8s 3d, 00 crossbred ewes at 6s lid to 7s, 32 ewes at 4s, 210 lambs at Ga to 03 Od, 30 do at 5s ld. Rams — Sinco we last reported wo have sold 31 ot from 1 guinea to 2J guineas. CATTLE. The number of fat cattle coming to hand is not sufficient to supply the local trade, consequently all lots offered meet a good market. Well forward stores are also in demand. We sold for Mr C. Bourn, 12 fat bullocks Ismail) at £1 7s Gd ; for Mr J. M. GreenawaV, 10 bnllooka at £5 5s to £5 12s Od ; for Mr E. Waddell, 5 bullocks at £5 7s 6d, 5 do at .£1 17s (Jd, 3 cows at £o, 8 steers and heifers at £3 10s to £i, 12 head at £2. 18s, 7 yearlings at 33s ; for sundry owners, cows at from £1 10s to £2 15s. SKIX3. At auction and privately wo disposed of 2300 at current rates. LAVD. We offered for sale to-day thoMonnt Harris property, which attracted considerable attention, many buyers from tho soath being proBent or represented at tho sale, and after keen competition it was ultimately knocked down to the bid of G. E. F. Schultz, EBq., at the sum of X8550. Wo havo to report a considerable demand for properties of this sort, and we will bo glad to have particulars of any handy sized farms, as there aro a great many people looking ont for investments at the prosent time, and wo havo no difficulty in finding purchasers for good properties at full values.
