NOTICE is heroby given that application has been made to the Levels Boad Board, sitting m Timaru, being the governing body of the District known as tho Levels Road District, by Chablb9 Palliseb and Thomas Raymosd Jones, both of Timaru, Contractors, the promoters of a certain PRIVATE TRAMWAY, for a LICENSE for the period of Three Years from the date of tho granting of such License, to lay down, maintain, and uso such Tramway across tho Main North Boad, and along the north side of Wai-iti Road, between the Wai-iti Creek and Whales Creek, m the Levels Boad District, County of Geraldine, New Zealand, and that tho plan of tlie proposed Tramway may be inspected at the office of tho suid LeveU Road Board at Timaru, on Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, between the hours of 10 am. and 4 p.m., and on Every Thursday and Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., from MONDAY, tho 7th day of November instant, until the 12th day of December, 1887, inclusive. And that on TUESDAY, the 13th day of December, 1887, at the hour of eleven o'clock m the forenoon at the Office of tho Baid Levels Road Board at Timaru, the said application and all objections, if any, thereto, will bo taken into consideration" by the Baid Board. Particulars concerning proposed tramway across Main North Eoad, and along north side of Wai-iti Boad, between Wai-iti Creek and Whaloß Crook, m tho Levels Road District, County of Geraldine. Gauge 3 feet 6 inches, Bails 401bs por linealyard, Length of Sleepers fif l 6in, 7in x 4in scantling, Width of Ballast Bft, 6 inches thick under sleeper , Centre of Tramway to be Bft clear of side lino of road ; mode of traction to be locomotive steam engine, speed not to exceed 8 miles per hour, width of trucks 7 feet. All private crossings to house entrances to be constructed as defined by tho Private Tramwayß Act 1882, for road crossings. Crossing keoper to be always m attendance at crossing of Main Road by Whales Creek. At termination of work all plant and material to be removed from the road line, and tho roadway to bo restored either to its originul condition or to such state as the Levels Road Board may approve.
