Second Day. The second day's reces came off yesterday. The weather waa somewhat stormy and the attendance equal to that of the first day. Results :— Handicap Hubdi.es, of 60 aovs ; about 14 miles. Mr E. Wilson's b g Panic, aged, Bst 121ba ... ... (W.Mitchell) 1 Mr W. O. Butherford's eh m Alainboom, aged, 9atl2lbs ... (Bishop) 2 Mr R. Rutherford's eh g Secretary, aged, lOst lOlbs ... (T. Lyford) 3 Kingask, Mammock, Ravenswood, Effigy, and Marmion also ran. Panic quickly assnmed the lead, Ravenswood next and Mainbootn third. On entering the straight Panic still held the lead. Mainboom challenged Panic and a very exciting race ensued to the finish, landing Panic first by a head, Mainboom second and Secretary a good third. Time — 3min. €A«eca. gTotalisator dividend— £7V 14s Notel Hurdle Race of 25 s«vs ; abont H miles. Mr C. A. Jefferson's b g Sawdust, aged lOst (Dunn) 1 Mr W. S. ArmUage's g % Shylock, aged (Blackmore) 2 Mexico, Piccannini, Clown and Ravenswood w«re scratched. This event was a good match between Sawdust and Shylock. The former led to the 6rat turn when Shylock caught him till passing the stand when Sawdust passed him, winning ultimately by about aiz lengths. Totalisator dividend— £2 3s. G.R.O. Handicap, of 70 soys; \\ miles. Mr J. W. Cotton's b g Snapshot, syra (McDonald) 1 Mr J. F. Armstrong's eh m Wairnna, 4yrs ... ... (McMorrin) 2 Mr 8. Higgott's eh h Patrician (Brown) 3 Seventeen horses had accepted but only six faced the starter. A good race eneued, resulting as above, lime — 2min. 20Asecs. Totalisator dividend — £2 10s. Siazs PaoDucß Stakes, of 100 sors, witb 60 sow added by owners of siree. Mr W. Hay's blk c Fitz-Nigel (by Betrayer), 3yrs (W. Burgess) 1 Mr P. Burk's g g LitHe Shamrock (by Trump Card), Syrs ... /"Holmes) 2 Mr J. Yount('s b c Sir Julius (by Betrayer) was scratched. A good start was effected, but soon after Gerald ine bolted off the course. After passing the stand Betrayer also bolted, leaving the race between FitzNigel and Little Shamrock. The former came into the straight first, Little Shamrock m close attendance. Half way up the straight Little Shamrock bolted leaving Filz-Nigel the winner. Totaliaatur dividend— £2 14?. Time— 3miu lVJaeos.
Flying Handicap, of 40 soys ; 6
furlongs. Mr Boyle's Vanity Fair (McMorrin) 1 Mr Butler's Repose ... (Stratford) 2 Messrs Hobbs' Melville ... (D.dd) 3 Miss Fanny Parnell, and Lyons also ran. Hobbs' Jack, Goodman's Bard, Lee's Nelly, Rhodes' Kimberley, and Emery's Tarantiilns were scratched. It was a close race between Vanity Fair and Repose for first place, but they came to the winning post m the above order. Totalisator dividend — £7 7s. Handicap Time Tr<>t, m saddle, lOsovs ; about 3 miles. Mr W. Moore' 3 Bob, 30secs (M. Lasson) 1 Mr McLeod's Era, 603ecs (Owner) 2 Twelve entries. Kitty was scratched. There was considerable excitement and tho race was closely watched by all on the course. Dividend— £6 6*. Consolation Handicap, of 25 soys ; once round the course. Mr J.
