PRIZES amounting to about £550 will be given m Pieces of Plato, Medals or Cash ; also the following additional prizes : — A Challenge Cup, valuo 40 Guineas, will be given by the members and friends of tho Association to the largest prize-taker m Breeding Stock — Sheep, Cattle and Horses. Vice-Preßident, Mr G. H. Rhodes, gives ft cup, valuo £10, for tho best horse that has hunted with any recognised pack. The same to bo entered m either class 151 or 152. The Hunt Clubs of Soutk Canterbury give a prize of £6 5s for tho beßt Light-weight Hunter. Mr F. LeCren, on behalf of tho N.Z. L. and M.A. Company, offers a Cup of tho value £10 10s, for the best pen of not less than twenty (20) Sheep m tho wool, suitable for freezing for export ; open to all Farmers not occupying or owning more than 8000 acres of land, the Sheep to have been bred and fattened ky exhibitor. The Cup will not bo awarded unless there be at least six exhibitors, but it will be available for the same object at next year's show. Maximum number of point* to be 18, thus apportioned. Early maturity, 5 : wool, 6 j carcase, 6. Special entry. The Asiociation offer a prize of £5, m addition to £5 offered by Mr William Balfour. For the best Dray Boot-cutting Machine, to be drawn by not more than two horßes, the roots to be dropped on the ground cut to size suitable for sheep, certainty of automatic feeding, and capability o cutting tho largest quantity m a given time, to be specially considered, tho dray to hold not less than lscwt of roots. The Association offer a prize of £5 for a Turnip Drill, to bow from 501bs to 2001bs to an acre of Bone-Dust or Super-phosphate m the same drills, To sow from 6ozs to 2lbs of turnip seed to tho acre, suitable to sow either level or down lands. The Association offer a prize of £3 for the best Automatic Chaff box, for feeding sheep, to hold not less than ten bags, to be wind and water proof, and to be easily movable. Mr James King offers a first and second prize of £3 and £?, respectively, for the best yearling colt or filly, by Quamby. Mr J. Ballantyne gives a prize of £2 2s for the best Jar of Salt Butter suitable for export. This exhibit samo conditions as for Potted Butter, must bo left with the Secretary on or before Saturday, September 25th. Mr J. Ballantyne gives a prize of £2 2s for the best Cheeso suitable for export. Mr A. Grant offers a prize of £2 for the best English Leicester Ewe, with or without lamb at foot. Mr S.
