♦ (By Telegraph.) WRECK OF THE S.S. LYTTELTON. Wellington, Oct. 1. Information has been received that the steamer Lyttelton, bound from Ferntown to Wellington, wa3 wrecked on a reef near tho Beef Barrels. Tho crew were picked up and taken on to Nelson by the steamer Murray. The Lyttelton was a steamer of 86 tons, and was commanded by Captain Forbes. She is owned m Wellington. No further particulars are to hand. JjATBII. The steamer Lj Helton, which was wrecked at the Beef Barrels last night, is owned m Wellington, by Mosars W. and G. Turnbull and Co., and insured m tho Colonial Insurance Company for £<!000; re-insured ns follows:— £2so m the New Zealand, £250 m the Victoria, £250 m the Australian Mutual Live Stock, £250 m tho Standard, and £500 m tho Bntnvia. Where the yessel is wrecked is near tbe Blind Bay entrance to the French Pass. WRECK OF THE SCHOONER CLYDE. Tho Marine Department have received the following telegram from Nelson -.— " The captain of tho Hawea reports the schooner Clyde on shore at the reef Criselles. He sent a boat from the steamer to the schooner, but found no one on board. Her starboard anchor was down."
