Tha following is the Christchurch Corn Exohansre report for the week onded Friday, tho 21th inst. :— . Farmers aro especially busy completing their Spring wheat sowinpr, consequently there has been a good demand for small parcels ot seod Tnscan. Bn3ines3 m tho grain trade is very good, no grain arriving from the country districts. All orders coming to hand havo to bo drawn from storo parcels which are now gradually becoming- smaller. _ Wlieat — Is firm, and outside requirements aro difficult to execnto on acconnt of the extremo values put on by boldors. Any decent linos offering aro quickly taken at 4s ,5d for pearl and Tuscan, the former lino being m most reqnest, and 4s 4d for hnntors ; second quality varies from 4s to 4s 2d, and chicken wheat is still scarco at 3s 8d to 2s lOd. , , .... Oats— The market 13 moro steady; milling aro low m stock (it 2s 5d ; short food have been soiling at 2s 3d, but holders aro now not anxiou3 to quit, anticipating an improved demand ; Danish and tartars command 2s Id to 23 2d. Barley— Tho malting soason will soon bo over and buyers feel indisposed to increase their stock. Prime malting is out of tho market, tvnd inferior is quiet at2aßd to 2s lOd; feeding linos have not been over brisk at 23 4d to 2* sd. . Boans and Peas— Have no business to report, and prices aro unaltered. Grass Seeds— Have had slightly a hotter trado to noto, but prices bn.vo not improved a3 holders aro anxious to reduce stocks, it hein<* generally understood that a good deal of s'eedinir down will bo postponed nntil Autnmn. Machine dressed is being sold at 53 to 53 Cd, and f armors parcels at 3a 9d to -U 6d. Cocksfoot 13 quiot ; clean heavy seed is wanted for shipment at up to 4Jd, but other grades are neglected. Potatoes — Are offering m largo quantities, and buyers aro few and independent, only careing to executo orders. A largo qnantity ha 3 been shipped to Sydney during tho paat few weeks, but there are still heavy stocks for disposal, and growers are disposed to sell at 40s at country stations. Dairy produce — [s quiot and prices aro unaltered. The abovo prioes (potatoes excepted) are for delivery f.o.b. Lyttolton.
