A meeting of tho Wellington shareholders m tho South British Insurance Company was held thi3 morning, at which the Christchurch delegate, who has just returned from interviewing tho directors m Auckland aa to the position of tho company, reported tho result of his mission. Ho stated tho directors had agreed with his representations on every point, excopt as to the Eastern business, which it wag thought advisable to continue. He had carefully ensured all securities, and was satisfied they represented the utmost capital of the reserve fund. Several questions were asked, m answer to ono of which Mr Harris stated that no director had ever borrowed : from the company. The meeting expresssd i confidence m the company.
