CONSISTING OF SHEEP, CATTLE, HORSES, PIGS, DOGS, POULTRY, DAIRY AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE, IMPLEMENTS, WOOL, &c, &c. PRIZES amounting to about £550 will bo given m Pieces of Plato, Medals or Cash ; also tho following additional prizes :— A Challenge Cup ; valuo 40 Guineas, will bo given Dy tho members and friends of tho Association to tho largest prize-taker m Breeding Stock — Shcop, Cattle and Horses. Vice-President, Mr G. H. Bhodes, gives a cup, value £10, for tho best horso that has hunted with any recognised pack. The same to bo entered m either class 151 or 152. Tho Hunt Clubs of South Canterbury give a prize of £5 5s for tho beat Light-weight Hunter. Mr F. LeCron, on behalf of tho N.Z. L. nnd M.A. Company, offors a Cup of tho valuo £10 10s, for tho beat pon of not less than twenty (20) Sheop m the wool, suitable for freezing for export ; open to all Farmers not occupying or owning moro than 8000 acres of land, tho Sheep to havo beon bred and fattened by exhibitor. The Cup will not bo awarded unless thero bo at least six exhibitors, but it will be available for the eamo object at next year's Bhow. Maximum number of points to be 18, thu3 apportioned. Early maturity, 6 : wool, 6 ; carcaso, 6. Special entry. The Association offer a prize of £5, m addition to £5 offered by Mr William Balfour. For tho beet Dray Root-cutting Machine, to bo drawn by not more than two horeos, tho roots to be dropped on the ground cut to size suitablo for sheep, certainty of automatic feeding, and capability of cutting tho largest quantity m a given time, to bo specially considered, tho dray to hold not less than 15cwt of roots. The Association offer a prizo of £5 for a Turnip Drill, to sow from 501bs to 2001bs to an acre of Bone-Dust or Super-phosphato m the Bame drills, To sow from Gozs to 2lbs of turnip seed to tho acre, suitablo to sow either lovel or down lands. Tho Association offer a prize of £3 for the best Automatic Chaff box, for feeding sheep, to hold not less than ten bags, to be wind and water proof, and to bo easily movable. Mr James King offers a first and socond prize of £3 and £2 respectively, for tho best yearling colt or filly, by Quamby. Mr J. Ballantyno gives a prize of £2 2s for tho beßt Jar of Salt Butter suitable for export. This exhibit came conditions as for Potted Butter, must be left with tho Secretary on or before Saturday, September 25th. Mr J. Ballantyne gives a prize of £2 2s for tho best Oheeso suitablo for export. Mr A. Grant offers a prize of £2 for the best English Leicester Ewe, with or without lamb at foot. Mr 8.
