DEPARTURE OF MINERS FOR BIG BAY.

(By Telegraph.) j Invebcaeoilt,, Sept. 18. There was considerable excitement over tho departure of the Big Bay expedition this morning. There was an immense crowd at tho railway station bidding them farewoll. Several besides the Southland and West Coast Prospecting Association's party of 30, went at their own chargo, all fully equipped. In all 104 miners' tickets wero taken at the railway station, besides a large number of ordinary tickets taken by persons going to the port to see their friends away. Thirteen truck loads of stores, tools, etc., accompanied the party. There was hearty cheering when the train moved away.
