New South Walos 36,776 Queensland 12,265 Victoria 68,300 South Australia 24,849 Western Australia 1,875 Tasmania 328 Now Zealand 28,134 Cape of Good Hopo and Natal 29,812 Total 202,369 And some 20,000 bales old wool. . WheAT. FLOtTR, &C. Owing to a falling off m tho supplies, and a prospect of smaller home deliveries m tho near future, our wheat market has hardened to some extent. In our country markets piices are also dearer, and a somewhat firmer feelfug pervades the trade generally. On passage the qnantity is now estimated at I.Boo,oooqrs, against 2,Goo,oooqrs m March, 1885. In America tho visiblo supply continnes to decrease, and now stands at 51,27^,000 bushels. Tho stock of Australian wheat hero 13 very limited, and 36s Gfl per 4!>Glbs ex granary is tho prico now asked, but this boing relatively high, business is consequently restricted. Several lots of Now Zealand wheats having been lately taken for tho Continent, the quantity remaining on hand is not over large, and prices are about Is por quarter dearer. Good long berried is now worth 31a to 35s and round berried 33s to 34s por 49Glbs, ex granary. In flonr, a large bnsinoss hai beon done, but prices . have not improved. Australian ordinary superfine is still worth 21s to 21s Gd, and fines and honsehold 21s to 225. New Zealand, 20a 6d to 22s np to 24s to 25a for patents por 2801bs, ox store. New Zealand malting barloy is dull of salo at 32s to 345, but there is a fair trade doing m ordinary quality at 263 to SOs per 4481b5. Oats are slightly dearer, and wo quote New Zealand at 26s to 31s 6d per quarter imperial Fine New Zealand beans bring 34s to 35s por 5041b3, and beat boiling peas 33s to 35s per 5041b5, ex granary. TALLOW, HrDES, Ac. Thcro wriH a fair, but uot aotivo demand for : Anstmlaaian tallow at tho Siules to-tln.v. and of 841 casks offered, 517 cask^ were sold at last wook's rates to (id por cwt decline. mutton and beef wore generally Gd per cwf lowor. Quotations are— 23s to 2-U 9d for fail to G>io mutton, and 213 6d to 23s Gd for good to fino beef. The imports have been 152J casks, and the stock m first hands now amount 3to about 17,500 casks. Hidos.— Sntted Australian hides wero m limited demand at tho auctions yesterday at a decline of Jd and }d per lb on heavy ox, and id per lb on light and Cows. Heavy ox brought 4Jd and 4|d, light 4Jd to i\A, and cows 4fd to 4|Jd per lb. Stock — 23,000 hides. FROZEN MEAT. The improvement m tho frozen mutton trade still continues, and prices have gone up very quickly ; m fnct, ifc would hayo been better foi tho trade generally if tho riso had not been qnite so rapid, as somo of tho buyers aro leaving off purchasing and aro turning their attention to other things. Th^ro arc, however, indications that Homo-killed mutton will be short during tho spring, and consequently, unless the supply of frozen mutton is excaptionally heavy, prices aro not likely to get much lower for some little time to como. Wo would again remind our friends of the importanco of breeding sheep with short plump legs and as littie waste fat as possible. The Canterbury sheep have tho repntation of being the best carcases on the market, but if they are to retain their good name, the qnality must be kept np. The demand for lamb is still small, but as only a few aro offered on tha market, prices for them remain firm. Prices today: — s. d. s. d. Best English or Scotch 4 10 to 5 0 Canterbury (N.Z.) ... 4 0„ 4 2 Wellington 3 10 „ 4 0 Sydney (Australia) ... 3 8,,— River Plate 3 6 „ 3 8 Very few of the latter on tho market. MONEY.
