Tho Hon. the Frenver cabled to tho Premier of New South Wales a few days since that it appeared tho question of reducing the duty on wool was again before tlio United States Congress. Ho suggested that the Außtrala9ian colonies should jointly ask tho Secretary of State to represent to the United States Government that theso colonies wero co allied to them by descent from the samo race, that they would regard the romoval of the duty from Australminn wool as an act of great friendship and consideration. Tho Premier of New South Wales accepted tho proposal on his own behalf, and said he would commuuicato with the Governments of the other colonies. Sir Julius Yogel also urged tho mail contractors, Sprecfeles Bros., uml Mr Center, to bring nil their influence to bear on the matter. Mr Stout m his telegram expressly adfiaed that m our representation sought to be mado to tho United States, tliore should bo no mention of retaliation or anything m tho nature of a threat.
