The barque Wild Wave was hanlod to tho wharf yesterday, and began discharging hoc cargo of timber. The three-masted schoonor Roward wa3 lying at the buoys yesterday awaiting her tnrn to come to the- wharf. The schooner Kenilwortb took her departure for Oamaru yesterday afternoon. She takes part original cargo of timber. The barquo Mataura took m a small quantity of wool yesterday. She will most probably sail for London to-day. Tho brigantine Circo fiuis'icd discharging timber last ovening, and will oommence loading produce this morning for Auckland. The b.s. Wanaka is expected from tho North ; the 8.8. Taupo from the South, and tho s.s. Pelham from Northern ports this morning. The following notice to mariners, received from tho Hydrographer to tho Admiralty, London, was published m tho Gaiette for general information : — Australia : East coast — Sunken rock and shoal-ground northward of Eaglo Islet. — Information has been receivod from Lieutenant and Commander Pullen, H.M. surveying vossol Lark, of the existenoo of a dangerous rook and shoal-gronnd extending abont six cables northward of the reef fringing Kagle Islet, western side of the inner ronto t-> Torres Strait. The rook, with lens than 6ft of water on it, lies with Eagle Islet bearing S. } 8., distant one mile ; a small rock above wator is situated between it and the fringing reef ; and shoal patohos lie abont five cables sonth-east-ward of the sunken rook. Position of rock — Lat. 14deg -llmin S., long. 145d0g 24$min E. The bearing, is magnetic. Variation 6deg easterly m 1886. This notico affects tho following Admiralty charts :— Coral Sea, Great Barrier Reef, Sheet 11, No. 2761 ; Capo Tribulation to Capo Flattery, No. 2351 ; Cape Flattery to Cape Sidmonth, No. 2352.
