In the House of Commons to-day the . debate on the Irish question was continued, and the first reading of the Bill carried without a division. Mr Gladstone, speaking on the measure, stated that the Government did not regard the provisions relating to the Imperial control of the Customs and the exclusion of Irishmen from the Imperial Parliament as vital points of the scheme.
