She was accompanied by her husband, and is charged with absconding from her creditors, with a view to defeating proceedings under the Bankruptcy Act 18S3, at Blenheim. She was admitted to bail by her husband depositing sureties. The accused is a lady-like young woman. John Hennessy, a cellarman at Handcook's brewery, dropped dead to-day. ~ ' ; ; . r Arrived, Hinomoa, with Mr Ballance. He had an interview with Tawhaio and the delegates who have come to see the Governor.' He leaves for Waikato accompanied .by Majors Eopata and Taoanui, who were introduced by the Governor. The remains of a man found in the bush yesterday are supposed to be thoso of Joseph Lucas, who left the copper mines for Nelson on January 6th and has not Binco been heard of. Mr Macandrew said in reference to the question of borrowing money that he thought it could be obtained at a low rate of interest. It was resolved to ask Government to allow a number of the. unemployed to go on with the earthworks. It is feared that one of the Colonial Bank staff named Gowrings, has got lost in the country between Lako Munapburi and Lake Wakatipu. He left on a walking tour on the 23 rd March, and has now been absent a week beyond his time.
