THRESHING OUT OF THE STOOK.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE TTMARD HERALD. Sib, — Your correspondent's letter re the preferableness of wheat for shipping if threshed out of the stook, rather than out of a well thatched stack, which has Btood six weeks or month*, is quite a new wrinklo to either the old grower or buyer. I should rather imagine that " Miller" was run very short of wheat, with some orders waiting ; and that after the few late N.W. dnyß, he wished to induce some farmer who had not quite finished to clear up the remainder for him through the combine, but alas! hia powerful argument appeared too late, for all who had risked their crops for that purpose will havo to givo them a considerable time to get them fit for stacking, let alone threshing and grinding, since the rain and thunderstorm yesterday. His argument is m strength as compared with the length of his letter. I am, &c, Old Grower, Sellbb and Buyer. Temuka, 12th March, 1886.
