Crawford and Dilke, was concluded to-day, when Sir Charles Dilke was acquitted by the jury of the charges brought against him. The operatives employed m the hosiery factories at Leicester have been out on strike since yeaterday. The town has been the scene of riotous proceedings. Many of the operatives paraded the town, smashing the windows of the factory, and of the proprietors' houses and other persons' who were obnoxious to them. They then proceeded to wreck the factories, quantities of valuable machinery being destroyed. The police were totally unabl9 to cope with the outbreak, and a large number of the residents were obliged to be sworn m as special constables. (Sfboiat. to thb Press Association.) The two eight-inch twelve and a half ton breech-loading guns, made to the order of the Victorian Government at Sir William Armstrong's factory at Elswick, have been shipped by the ship Midlothian. The frozen meat by the Shaw-Savill and Albion Co.'s steamer Coptic is selling at 5d per lb.
