(BY TBLEGRAPII.) Nrw Plymouth, Jin. It. Tlio Primitive Methodist Conference is now beiug held here. The report of the examiners of probationers was adopted. Tho Roy. J. Boothroyd, m his fourth veur, obtained 83 marks out of a possiblo 100 ; the Rev. \V. Laycock, m hia second year, 78 ; the Rev. Henry ' lurke, m hia first year, 79 ; the Her. — Freeman, m his first year, 40, being 20 marks below the minimum. The following resolution, moved by the Rev. T. .--ailer, re the Stratford fires, was passed : — "That tho members of this District Meeting of the Primitive Methodist Church of New Zealand, now assembled m New Plymouth and composed of representatives from all parts of the colony, desire to express their deep sympathy with the sufferers through tho disastrous fires which have recently rendered 60 many homeless m the Taranaki district." The resignation of the Rev. R. Freeman waa read and received. The report of the Book-room Committee showed that fair business hud been dono during the year and that a balanco of £129 13s 9d remained m favor of the Committee. ]t was resolved that each preacher appointed to remove shull be liberated from his station on March 6th, and that he must arrivo m his future station m time to begin hia work on the 18th. An application to enter tbo Primitive Methodist Ministry was mado by a young man of the Manawat.u station who had been employed as a Wesleyan Homo Missionary. After considerable discussion it was resolved to employ him as a, hired local preacher for one year with a view to the ministry. Following is tho station list : — New Plymonth, Hoy. Tlios. Ward; Jnvcrcargill, Revs. Jas. Guy and Wm. Laycock ; Timaru, Rev. Wm. J. Dean ; Thames, Rev. J. Clover ; Greendale, Rev. Joseph Sharpe ; Ashburton, Rev. Fredk. Hill ; Christchurch, Rev. P. W. Jones ; Mauawatu, Rev. Hy. Clark ; Geraldine, Rev. Jesse Boothroyd ; Dunedin, Rev. J. Walker Harris ; Dunedin (2), Rev. J. Nixon; Oamaru, Rev. Tlios. H. Lyons ; Waimate, one to be obtained.
