VITAL STATISTICS.
(BY TELEQBArH.) Wellington, Jan. 14. The following aro the vital statistics for tho month of December : —
Tho deaths of persons not residents of boroughs occurring at hospitals have been excluded m all wises. Tho total births m the above boroughs amounted to 420 against 467 m November, a decrease of 47. Tho deaths m December were 188, an increase of 60 on tho num her for November. Of tho above deaths males contributed 120, and females 68. 76 of the deaths were of children under flvo years o£ age, being 40.42 per cent of the whole number. 62 of these were of children under one year of ago.
