Land Gompnoy, demunding the completion of iitloa of hind taken for rood purposes. The Chairman was instructed to attend to the matter. In rcferenco to an account from ' Mr Bhaw for surveying tho doviation of a rond as Htreetcd by Mr Jus. Balfour, the Clerk was instructed to apply to Mr Balfour for paymerit of tho amount. : INTBHVIEW. Messrs Munro and Crummio waited on the Board, asking that the portion of road by Hampton's, also a portion of the Flat road noar Robinson's, bo shingled. The Overseer was directed to report fully upon this at next moeting. TUB BUBFACEStBJf. It was resolved that tho surfacemen be dispensed with for one month during the harvest. ACCOUHTB. The; Overseer's report was read as follows : — ' "In accordanco with the resolution of last 1 have tho honor to report as follow* : — I have not vet been able to meet Mr j.J, B. Smith with reference to the deviation of ' road leading to Mount Grav school, but havo appointed to meet him on Thursday next. | " I.have prepared plans, nnd specifications for tho Cave Road, from its junction with Kobinson's to the boundary at the Cavo, a distance of four miles. " I should recommend that:tho formation only bo done at present, as I bolieve that a great portion of the road when formed will bo of ahinglr, and by waiting a little time tho sandy [wrtions of the road will havo time to harden. ' " Tongawai Bridge — It will be necessary to put this bridge in repair before the heavy traffic commences, as it was only repaired temporarily, to allow tho grain season to be finished. As the river ia very low now it is a good opportunity to have it dono. " The approach to one of the bridges on the Pareora Road, beyond Mr -Moody's, that had been lately re-decked, . having become dangerous, I had tbo same repaired. " Tha foundations of the small-stone bridgo near Chivers', on the Upper Pareora Road, has been scoured out, and ft portion of the abutment has been letdown. I havo taken steps to repair tho same, as it was dangerous. " I havo had the culvert across the road leading to Devon's land at Seadown, re"pilred. 11 Owing to the continued dry weather the stones on tho roads have worked up, and aro lying loose on the surface. This is dangerous for horses travelling, and I am having tho stones collected in the worst places. "The following woris have been authorised to be done after harvest:— Forming to Campbell's, Kingsdown, shingling Robinson's Road, formation of road at Kensington, Miller's Road, reforming road leading to Mr Rhodes' (late Rutherford's'-, re-forming from TosswiU's to Pago's. I will havo plans and specifications ready next meeting.'' It was resolf ed that tho Tengawai bridge should bo repaired at once. The meeting then terminated.
