CHRISTCHURCH PRODUCE MARKET.

The following ia the Christohnroh Corn Exohange report for the week ended Thursday, the 31st inst. :— With a broken week of holidays the grain transactions have been limited. Continued dry weather is ripening the crops prematurely, and m many instances fielda of oats have already been harvested, and prospects generally are m favor of light crops. Barley has aIBO suffered greatly from want of rain, and yields will be light and qnality inferior. Prime milling wheat is not so eagerly sought after, as many mills are already olosed down halftime, quotations have not advanced over those of last week. Second quality, dry and fit for a long voyage, has a fair demand at from 2s lOd to 3s Id ; chick wheat readily commands 2a 9d to 2s lOd. Oata have had more enquiry, especially for stout feed lines. Milling fetches 2a ; bright short feed, Is lOd to la lid; slightly discolored, la 8d to Is 9d; long and inferior, la 6d to la 7d. Malting barley, no sales to report. Feed lines have had a limited enquiry at Is 9d to 2s. Beans are wasted at 2s lOd to 2s lid, but few lines are offering. Peas are not offering. Enquiries are being mado as to the likely opening prices for cocksfoot, but at present nothing definite has been arranged aa between bnyera and sellers. The new prop of ryegrass ia reported from various districts as likely to be light with small yields. Dairy produce has a fair demand, bnt advices from Sydney report that they have had Bhowery weather, and that prices had fallen 3d per lb for butter. Tab butter m this market is wanted at 9d for really extra prime ; second quality varies a good deal. Loaf-shape cheese (new) 5Jd to Gd • •ther sizes 4d to sd, according to frizo and quality. The atovo quotations are those paid to farmers and delivered f.o.b. Lyttelton.
