International Exhibition of 1882, Nelson, Moate and Co's Celebrated Pure Blended Teas were acknowledged by three judges tho Best by pence per lb., but owing to an irregularity a frivolous protest was entered. Nelson, Moats and Co threw up the award (although not compulsory) and challenged the opposing Company for another test j consequently a Special Committee was culled and the teas taken out of tho £ different cases by Mr Twopenny to be w wrapped m plain papers (N.M. & Co.'s 9 conditions) to bo sent to an expert op- w ;?; pointed by the Committee ; but the said q ts Company fearing their teas would not W A stand another test their prices were re- p duced 8d per lb., so the Committee de- tsj cided that m spite of the irregularity O they were thoroughly convinced, from the separate evidencoof the jurors, that the iirst teat was most severe and impartial.
