boroughs occurring at hospitals have been excluded m all cases. The total births m the above boroughs amounted to 523 against 604 m August, Sri increase of J9- The deaths m September were 198, aa increase of 16 on the number for August. Of tho above deaths males contributed 106, and females 90. Siity-one of the deaths wore of children under five years of age, being 31.28 per cent of the whole number. Forty-seven of these were of children under one year of age. - ._
