Messrs Jonas and Bourn report as follows : — Both fat cattle and sheep are m good sopply at present and prices show a weakening on late ratea. For store sheep there is a brisk demand and all coming forward are placed at full current values. Yonng store cattle aro not offering so freely as they were, and prices for good forward two and three year old steera have improved to some extent within the past month. Their fast s.ila at the South Cantorbury Sftleyarda, Washdyke, was well attended and every line of sheep on their booka placed as under :— 75 crossbred wethers at lib ; 30 at 12s 'Jd ; 30 at 13s 3d ; 22 at 16a. IS merino ewes at 6s s<l ; 378 crossbred hoggets at 10s 3d. i fat steers at .£6 12s tid ; 4at£s 7s 6d ; 1 at £o 2a Od ; sat £5. 21 steers and heifers at £i 9s; 1 heifer at £i and 5 at £2 10s. Privately they placed on tho same day 24 head of fat steers at £ti us, and 250 fat wethera at 13a 6d. Sheepskins. — Their regular sale on Wednesday last wa3 attended by all the South Canterbnry buyers. A heavy catalogue was preaonted and every line cleared at prices as nnder : — Crossbreds, Is 3d, Is 6d, 2s, 2s -id, 3s, 3s 3d, 3a 4d, 3a 9d, 3s lOd, 4s ld, 4s 2d, 4* 4d, 4b V 4s Bd.
