Medical. From Dr. EWART. lam very much i pposed to patent medicines gonerally nnd totally discountenance the balsams, oxymels, elixirs, Byrups and otlier emanations of unprincipled empirics ; but I regard your Lung Preserver as a really good preparation, entirely free from those qualities which render mst patent medicines dangerous and possessed of those tonic and stimulaing properties which render it a treasure to tbose wbo suffer from the exhausting effects of pulmonary diseaso and chest affectionß generally. In cases of asthma it quickly cuts sliort the paroxysm. In chronic bronchitis or w inter cough it is usoful ; tho dis- , charge of mucus is greatly assisted, and the ' wheezing and difficulty of breathing are greatly relieved by it. In acute bronchitis it is also beneficial, and whilst, it tends to check inflammation, it promotes expectoration, and thus relieves the laborious nnd difficult breathing so general m tliese attacks. As a Cough Medicine, for persons of all ages, il is excellent.. From Rev. W. B. MARTF.N, Wesleyan Minister. Christchurch, 2nd August, 1872.
