GREAT FIRE AT AUCKLAND.
LOSS ESTIMATED AT £30,000. (By Telegraph.) Apoxland, June 1. Owen and Graham's wholesale warehouse, Queen street, was discovered to be on fire at a quarter to 8 this morning. The lire originated m tbe basement, which was used as a packing department, and the flame leaped up to the fourth storey, which containedsilks and fancy goods, etc. This portion of the storey was completely gutted. The Fire Brigade got the fire under m half-an-hour, but not before the whole building had been completely deluged with water.- The loss ia estimated at £30,000. The following are the insurances. On the stockNew Zealand, £3,000 j Hanseatic, £1,600 ; London and Lancashire, £1,000 j Hamburg, £1,500; Victoria, £2,000; Eire Association, £2,600; Union, £1,000 ; Standard, £10,000 ; Norwich Union, £4,000} Northern, £3,000;
National, £3,000 ; Sun, £2,500 ; London, Liverpool, and Globe, £3,000 ; United, £1,500; South British, £2,000; Colonial, £2,000; Manchester, £1,000; Mercantile Union, £2,000; Imperial, £3,000. Total, £40,600. The insurances on tho building are £2,000 m tho New Zealand and £1,000 m tho Norwich Union.
