The International Inventions Exhibition m Scmth Kensington was formally opened to-day by the Prince of Wales. Arrived — Orient R.M.S. Chimborazo, left Melbourne March 20th. (.Received 10.45 p.m., May sth.] The Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association report the arrival of the Alcestes from Oamaru (January 21st), and the Asterion from Timaru (January 13th). Consols, 9G. New Zealand securities — 5 per cent 10-40 loan, 100k ; 4£ per cent 1879-1904 loan, 100| ; 4 per" cent inscribed stock, 93£ (ex div). The market rate has been reduced, and is now l£ per cent below the bank rate. Colonial breadstuff's— Adelaide wheat, ex store, 393 ; Adelaide flour, ex store, j 28s ; New Zealand wheat, ex store, 32s to 365. Tallow and hides are unaltered. (Special to the Prkss Association.) !
