POLITICAL ADDRESSES.

(By Telegram.) Dunbdin, April 30. Mr Fulton addressed the Taieri electors at Moegiel. He defended the course he had adopted m opposing the Government, but said he supported all the measures brought forward by them which he thought deserving of. He denounced the district railway proposals. A vote of confidence was passed m him. Mr Larnach, Minister of Mines, addressed his constituents at South Dunedin this evening, when there was a good attendance He expressed his views m regard to local'government, saying they were only his because he had no opportunity of consulting the other Ministers. He was m favor of local bodies receiving all money arising from direct taxation and of a land and income tax, the land tax to be spont by local bodies. He favored a revision of the tariff so as to encourage local productions, and would preserve our forests by making a charge on all cutting of timber. His views on education had not changed, and he favored the giving of the capitation grant to all, and so place everybody on an equal footing. He thought the system should be locally administered so as to. bring the people faco to face with its expense. He would do all m his power to develop the mineral resources of the colony, and would favor the gold mining industry by assisting m supplying water. He would further assist m making the School of Mines efficient. He thought no Government could do more than they had done for the defence of the colony, though he . questioned the efficiency of whoi had been done. A vote of confidence m him waa< passed. .
