The match against a local fifteen has consequently been abandoned. Melbourne, April 7. An extensive fire has occurred at Sharp's timber yard on the Sandridge road. The damages resulting are estimated at £15,000. (Received 9.45 p.m. April 7th.) Sydney, April 7. Arrived— Tekapo, s.s., from Wellington, yesterday morning. The Volunteer review took place yesterday, and was a great success. Brisbane, April 7. The men employed in the construction of the Western Railway are dissatisfied with the present rate of wages and struck work i : :m increase of pay.
