LATE CABLE NEWS.
(By Telegraph.) (Per s.s. Manapouri at Auckland.) (Special to the Melbourne "Age.") London, March 14. The Agent-General for New Zealand has written a letter to the Melbourne Argus with reference to the remarks made m Melbourne by Mr Froude respecting the Australian Agents-General and their fitness to act as Parliamentary representatives of the colonies m Britain. Sir Dillon Bell declares that none of the present Agents-General have met Mr Froude m London. The statement made m the Pall Mall Gazette on tho 9th March that the British Government, m order to propitiate Prince Bismarck, had conceded the Huon Gulf and territory to the north of it to Germany, has been confirmed. March 18. Lord Derby has telegraphed to the Governor of Victoria that it was nover P^P!" 6 ? or decided that the frontier between Broistt and German territory m New Guinea shoiUtt be fixed at the Bth degree of south latitude and should apply inland.
