TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMARU HERALD. Sib,— Allow me to say with what pleasure and interest I read your article on " Household Management." I think it teaches many lessons which our girls would do well to learn. All mothers, of course, expect that their daughters will marry in course of time and have homes of their own, and yet a. great number of them bring up their girls in such a mannor as to totally unfit them for household duties. Numbers of girls think of scarcely anything but dress, visiting, etc. ; and instead of being careful and saving, spend money a great deal faster than ia good, either for themselvos or anybody else concerned.
