Rosa and Co., of this city, report the sale of a cargo of kauri timber ex Devonport. Hewn logs realised an average price of Its per 100 feet sapor. The market is weakening. Private telegrams have been received here stating that a large speculative demand for the Contineut is now manifest m the London wool market. The next series of auctions, which open on the 2Dtb, will close on June 18th, and the quantity of wool available is stated to amount to 370,000 bales, including 280,000 bales of Cape wool. The Melbourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports of the local grain nvarket an follows : — Wheat, 3s lid to 4s ; the nrnrkot fiat. Malting barley, firm at 43 3d and 4s 93. New Zealand oats, firm and m active demand at 23 8d to 23 lid for ieediag, and 2s lid to 3s Id for milling sorts. New Zealand oats, under bond, are m good demand at 2s7dto2s9d.
