EAU DE SUEZ.

In this ago of scientific discovery, when overything is done to mako life as easy and pleasant as possible, when the nse of antcsthetica to alleviate pain has been carried to an extent undreamed of by our ancestors, it is surely time a remedy should be found for one of the most crying evils our civilisation is subject to — namely, the decay of tho teeth, and consequent ill-health of the whole body. M. Suez is tho happy discoverer of this muchdesired boon ; his Eau do Suez seems to realise tho fables of tho bottled genii m tho " Arabian Nights," so magical and mighty are its powers. It is sold m three different preparations, distinguished by a yellow, green, and red thread, and 51. Suez recommends all those persons suffering from acute toothache to use tho yellow thread, which will instantly stop tho most violent pain. Those who suffer from periodical attacks of toothache, decayed teeth, sensitive gums, or other diseases of the mouth, should use the green thread daily, mixing ten or twelve drops m half it. tumbler of water, and washing tho mouth night and morning ; they will thus preserve their teeth white and sound, keep the gums m healthy condition, tho breath sweet, and, m fact, set disease and decay at defiance. Tho red thread is intended for children, and those fortunate persons who possess sound teeth and healthy gums, and will prevent their ever becoming painful or diseased. The Eau do Suez is perfectly harmless. M. Suez considers that his discovery will m a few years put an end to false teeth, extraction, and all tho tortures dentists inflict on their uuhappy victims ; not that we wish to cast a slur upon an honorable and hard-working profession, but simply to point out the unnecessary pain humanity i 3 made to suffer from a mistaken view of the truo treatment of the mouth and teeth. M. Suez also recommends the use of his Orange Tooth Paste for whitening and cleansing tho teeth, and a particular kind of soft tooth-brush (mado from the finest badgor-hair), instead of the usual hard kind., which ho terms a '' criminal instrument," inasmuch as it weakens and finally destroys the gums, thus leaving tho teeth exposed, and imparting an offensive smell to the breath. Of courso the marvellous properties of Eau de Suez — Vaccino for the Mouth, as it has justly been called — will not at once bo appreciated ; people are so fond of saying about anything new, as Agassiz phrased it, " First, that it is not true ; secondly, that it is against religion : thirdly, that overybody knew it ! " But M. Suez's grand discovery has already met with great success, as its immense sale, and the articles descanting on its merits which have appeared m the Fiijarn, Vie Parisiennc, and other papers, testify. So great is the popularity and success of M. Suez's preparations m Franco and England that several imitations have been made: it is advisable, therefore, to sco when purchasing that each label bears tho name of Wilcox and Co., 239,0xf0rd street. London.
