The following is the result of the Cup race: — Austbalian Cur, a handicap sweepstakes of 20 30*9 eacb, with 500 soys added ; second horse 1(0 soy«, and third horse 50 soys from the stakes. For three-year-olds and upwards. Two miles and a quarter. Hon. J. White's eh c Morpeth, by Goldsbrough—Goldfinch, 4jr*,Bit 51b ... 1 Mr W. Gannon's br h Sweet William, by Yuttendon —Lady Hooton, Syrs, Bit 91b 2 Mr D. 8. Wallace's b o La Grand, by Epigram—Legend, 3yrs, 7st 121 b ... 3 Seventeen horses started. Doncaster cot away at tbe start and made the running, with Morpeth sixth and Off Color near by, until the finish, when Morpeth went to tho front and took the lead without difficulty, winning easily by two lengths.
