Less rain baa fallen during the summer months m tbia district, and the weather has been warmtr ii well as drier tban sear the coaat line, consequently tbo crops are much forwarder, and harvest will be m full sving m the nourie of a dty or two. The total area under grain this year it about 6000 aores, and the (iropi are looking splendid. The quality of ' the grain grown m thit district m former years is well known, l.nd after the past favorable season it may tai'ely bo taid it will be equal or superior to that of any former year. Wheat and oati form <;be bulk of the crop, barley not being town extensively, bat wbiit there is is a splendid crop, proving that tha soil and climate are alike suitable for itt successful prodaotion. Grass seed bae been euved m the valley m large quantities and ia good condition this seuson.
