AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report saloa of stock &c, for tho week ended Sept. 15th, 1883, as follows :— At their monthly sale of stock m tho Goraldino yards, on Wednesday, there was a largo attendance of buyers, and m most instances the prices realised were satisfactory to the vendors. Judging from the number of pnrchasers and their desiro to speculate, they are bonnd to say that the market showed a decided improvoinont m values. Owing to the postponement of tho sale through tho inclemency of tbo weather last Wednesday, the number of entries wa3 not as largo as has hitherto been tho case. They only yarded for the day's sale 48 sheep, 18 pigs, 87 head of cattle, and 10 horses. The following pricoa were realised m tho different lines submitted : — Sheep : A small line of cross-bred hoggota at 9s 3d. Storo pigs, from 5s to 255. Cattlo : Cows, springing, from LI 5a to L-i 10s ; throe-year-old steers, m forward condition, L 3 17s Gd to L 5 153. Horaoa : Medium draughts, Lll 10s to Ll2 10s. At Winchester Fair, on the following day, tho total yarded for tho day's sale was 278 sheep and 4 head of cattle, of which their entry was 48 hoggets and 3 head of cattlo. They succeeded m placing the hoggets at 10s Id. At their sale rooms, Geraldine, on Saturday, they sold, on account of the Goraldino Racing Club, tho privi'eir-'"" on the conrso at the forthcoming meeting, wuiuii wero keenly competed for, and sold at tho following prices, viz. : — David Denoon, gates, L 7 4; B. C. Bowden, grand stand booth, U5 ; Thos. Farrell, No. 1 booth, L3B; R. Raylor, No. 2 booth, L3l ; Stephen Taylor, refreshment stall, L 10; A. Owls, cards of races, L3O, horse yards, L7 los ; P. 8011, games, L 3 17s 6d ; total, L 239 7s 6d. Farm produco was sold at the following prices :— Potatoes, 4s 6d per sack; carrots, 3s 9d per sack ; chick wheat, 6a Gd per sack ; cheese, Akaroa, 8d ; bacon, 7d to 8d ; and other lines np to last quotations.
