(By Tbieqbaph.)

(From oca owk Cobbespondbnt.)

WbliiTngtok, Aug. 16.

The report of Mr J. H. Soott. on the survey of Waikouaili Bay was laid on the Table today. It is pimply a technical description of the bay, and offers no suggestions whatever. A letter from Mr Blackett to the Minister for Marine statrs a good harbor can be made for £378,000. On tho motion to go into Committee of Supply, Mr Smith, during the temporary absence of Sir Goorge Grey, moved the land tax resolutions for that gentleman. Sir Georgo Grey fallowed m a long and bitter speech, bnt bis energy was thrown away, and bis philippics only drew forth derisive cheers.
