FUSTIAN v. BROADCLOTH.

TO TUB EDITOR OF THE TIMABTJ HEEAID. Sib, — Home few months ago I wrote to the Harbor Board applying for a rebate on the amount piid by me for landing ballast ex Lovehjerte, and my application was disposed of m the twinkling of a bed-post :— "We cannot dopart from the published sealo of charges." Yesterday a similar application was preientcd to the Board by an influential company, and the letter was graoiously referred to the Standing Committee. It is to be hoped (hat although vu'gar fustian failed, genteel broadcloth will succeed m working the oraolo. Putting favoritism aside, there can bo no two opinions about the chargo being too high, both for landing and supplying ballast at this port. I am, Ac, S. H. Kkbby, Quarryman. Aug. 10' h, 1883.
