Messrs Robt. Wilkin and Co. report for the week ended Friday, 10th August, 1883, a3 follows : —

Horses— Thoy quote prices about tho samo as last week, viz., Rood draughts from L25 to L3O, and up to L35 for first-class ; medium, from Ll6 to L 2 3; good hacks, from Lls to L2O; light and weedy almost unsaleable. Young good sound animals arc always saleable at quotations.

Cattle — Fat may be quoted at 22s Gd per lOOlbs for prime quality, and sales daring- the week have principally been effected privately. Stores — Nothing of any importance has taken place. Quiet springing heifers aro being inquired for, and are bringing from £4 10s up to L 5 10s. Yearlings aro not m good demand, whilst two and three year olds are more sought after.

Sheep — Prime quality mutton is iv good demand at advanced ratea. They quoto 2Jd perlb. Stores— Thero ia not much doing. Privately during tho weok thoy have placed a line of 500 merino ewes at 5s (id. Good crossbred ewes m lamb are being inquired for, also hoggets.

Skins — At then: usual fortnightly sale, held at their rooms on Wednesday last, their catalogue was not a very heavy ono, and the usual attendance of buyers m the district were present. Spirited biddings wero tho order of the day, resnlting m a clearance of everything at prices up to late rates. Best butohor3* orossbreds made 3s 9d, 3s lid to 4s 3d ; second quality, 3s 4d, 3s Gd to 3s 8d ; best merinos, 3s 6d, 3s 8d to 3s lid; second quality, 2s Gd, 3a to 3s 3d ; inferior and dry, Is, la 3d to 23 2d.

Property — They hayo to report having Bold by auction on Saturday, 4th inst., 40 acroa of land, situated on the Waitohi Plat, at L 8 per acre ; also 50 acres aitnated below tho terrace, Waitohi Flat, at 1A 15a par aero. A aoction, Trith six-roomed house, situated m Elizabeth
