In the course of a speech at the Mansion House yesterday evening, Mr Gladstone referred to tho difficulty which had arisen at Tamatave on account of the manner m which the French Admiral had treated the British Consul and Naval officers, and announced that fuller advices which had been received continued the hope that a speedy and satisfactory settlement of the matter will be arrived at. Vienna, Aug. 8. A strong anti-Jewiah feeling continues to be diaplayed m Hungary, and at Pesth a serious riot occurred, m which the house of one of the Jews who was recently acquitted of the murder of a Christian girl was sacked. The disturbance was ultimately quelled by the military, who had to be called out.
